Primate filming in Uganda is amazing. Mostly, the gorillas and chimpanzee filming leave a lot to be desired. Uganda Gorilla filming is done in Bwindi and Mgahinga forests while chimpanzee filming is done in Kibale, Kalinzu, Toro- Semuliki, Kyambura Gorge and Budongo forest. In this itinerary, let us focus on Gorilla filming in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzee filming in Kibale National Park.
Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Transfer to Kibale National Park
You will meet our professional film fixers at Entebbe Airport. The team will welcome you and ensure that all your equipment is cleared in the customs. Our team will brief you and then transfer to Kibale national Park. Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Lodge, Primate Lodge Kibale, Crystal Safari Lodge or Turraco Treetop.
Day 2: Chimpanzee filming in Kibale Forest
After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee filming. You will walk in the forest to search for the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. On meeting with chimps, set your cameras ready to capture pictures in motion.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will pass by Mountain Rwenzori National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Proceed via Ishasha sector to see the tree climbing lions (on lucky day). Proceed to Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge, Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, Ruhija Gorilla Lodge or Silver Back Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Filming in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, go gorilla filming in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and thereafter, return to your respective accommodation for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Days 5: Drive back to Entebbe Airport – Departure
After breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe Airport – en route visit the Uganda Equator – proceed to Entebbe Airport for your evening departure.
