There many good places for film fixing in Uganda and they include:
Kampala city – It’s the capital city of Uganda with many administrating centres, Historical centres, cultural centres, entertainment centres among others where film makers can do their filming activities.
Jinja Town -The town is situated in Eastern Uganda, it’s where the source of River Nile is located, River Nile – its the longest river in Africa and the second world wide after Amazon river. River Nile offers activities like white water rafting, boat trips, birding, spot fishing and so on.
Entebbe Town – Uganda international Airport is situated in Entebbe Town, Wakiso district. Other places include Botanical gardens, series of beaches, Uganda wildlife Education centre, Ngamba Island and so on.
Bwindi Impenetrable National park – its the home of mountain Gorillas, birds, tropical rain forest, water falls and so on. Filmmakers can spend many days filming bwindi forest and its inhabitants.
Mgahinga National Park – it’s another home of Mountain Gorillas and golden monkeys however, MGNP hosts few mountain gorillas. The park is part of Virunga crescent together with Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National park in Democratic Republic of Congo.
Queen Elizabeth National Park – Its the second largest National Park in Uganda with lots of wildlife like elephants, Hippos, Antelopes, buffaloes and lions among others. In QENP, filmmakers can do day and night filming to target nocturnal animals and so on.
Murchison Falls national Park – Its the largest National Park in Uganda and one of the sites for amazing game drive due to the fact that, MNP has majority of wildlife seen during the game drive.
Kidepo Valley national Park – Its a “true African wilderness”. The park is situated far north eastern Uganda at Kenya – Uganda border. The park is known for large stocks of elephants and buffaloes.
Mountain Rwenzori National Park – The highest mountain in Uganda at 5109m and the third in East Africa after Mount Kirimanjaro at 5895m and Mount Kenya at 5199m. Many features to film on Mount Rwenzori include wildlife, birds, Vegetation, snow peaks, Lakes, Rivers and so on.
Mountain Elgon National Park – the second highest mountain in Uganda with the largest caldera. Mount Elgon is the highest volcanic mountain in Uganda with wagagai as the highest peak at 4,321 m.
Lake Mburo National Park – Its the second smallest park after Mgahinga National park and the smallest savannah park in Uganda. The common animals you can’t miss to see include Zebras, Giraffes, Kobs, impalas, water bucks among others.
Semuliki National Park – Its famous for hot springs and unique wildlife. Semuliki Forest Reserve was created in 1932 and upgraded to national park status in 1993. It is the only tract of true lowland tropical forest in East Africa, hosting 441 recorded bird species and 53 mammals.
Kibale National Park – its the major home for chimpanzees in Uganda. KNP is famous for hosting majority members of chimpanzees. Other destinations for chimpanzees include Kyambura Gorge, Toro-semuliki Game reserve, Budongo Forest and Kalinzu Forest.
