The cost of the production depends on the film fixing company, required quality, filming targets and budget of the filmmakers. Below is the guideline for the estimated amount required in film production:
Semi-pro level: £0 – £3,000
These are typically your smaller projects with a smaller film crew. There’s a varied level of talent here with a good understanding of video production principles.
Professional level: £5,000 – £20,000
These are usually mid-level projects with larger crews and much better equipment. There’s a high level of talent here with great video production knowledge.
Hollywood level: £100,000+
Its the very top level of video production. As the name suggests, we’re talking Hollywood level production value here.
How long is the filming project?
The time spend on the project depend on its nature. An example is the social media and promotion videos content which can take 1-2 weeks. Videos with long content which needs serious research takes longer to accomplish.
How long is filming takes?
The standard filming time is 10hrs but can vary based on the standard of the video requirements. The production company and film crew fixers agrees on the filing time during the initial stage.
What are the stages of producing a video?
All videos under go three stages namely; pre- production stage, Production and post- production.
Pre- Production is the initial stage of video production. At this stage of the process, you’ll be asked a few questions to define exactly what you want to achieve from your video project.
Production is exactly what it sounds like. Actual work at this point. This is where all the ideas from the previous stage come to fulfillment. All the plans are in place and you’re now ready to film!
Post-production is where the company or freelancer you’ve commissioned will work their magic and create your masterpiece. They will edit together your project in the style that you’ve agreed to when you were planning your project. You will have a chance to make changes here and tweak your video to your liking.
Who is a film fixer? Is a professional who assists in planning, coordinating and execution of films and TV production usually on location. How safe is filming in Uganda?
For many year, Uganda has been and is still one of the safest countries in Africa. All security agencies work tooth and nail to fix any security mess in advance to secure the lives of our filmmakers. During filming, Crystal Fixers Uganda can hire private of government security guards to keep the filming crew kit /equipment.

Finding a filming location is part of Crystal Fixers Uganda’s work. As a film fixers, our field scout will look for the filming location based on your interests and goals to achieve. He moves deep in remote areas to find exactly what you need.
What permission do i need to film in Uganda?
You need a media card from Uganda Media council (UMC). Each film crew member is supposed to get media accreditation to legally film in Uganda.
You also need location permit from the authorities in the filming areas.
Film makers must also sign contract with Uganda Wildlife Authority in case you are going to film in game reserves managed by Uganda Wildlife Authority.
How to clear filming equipment in Uganda
A fee is paid to have your filming kit cleared in Uganda. The clearing amount depends on the value of the filming kit. The clearing process take 2-3 working days once your filming equipment is showing type, serial number and its value in US dollar. The clearing amount is paid to the Uganda Revenue Authority customs and the fixers to ensure that your filming Kit is cleared into the country.
