Kibale National Park is the major home of chimpanzees in Uganda and famous for hosting majority wild chimpanzee.Kibale National Park is situated in western Uganda, protecting moist evergreen rain forest. It is 766 square kilometres (296 sq mi) in size and ranges between 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) and 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) in elevation.
Filmmakers who are interested in chimpanzee filming, Kibale National Park is a major chimp destination in Uganda however, each crew member must fulfill all the requirements for chimpanzee filming. Filmmakers are mandated to media cards from Uganda Media council (UMC). More so, chimpanzee filming crew must obtain location card or pass from Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
Kibale National Park offers chimpanzee trekking (1hr) and Chimpanzee Habituation (Full day). According to the current filming fees, each filmmaker need to buy a chimpanzee trekking permit at US$200 + US$80 as 40% of US$200 totaling to US$280 per person per day. On the other hand, if you want to film chimpanzees for more hours, book chimpanzee habituation at US$250 + US$100 as 40% of US$250 totaling to US$350 per person per day.
All filming activities are monitored by officials from Uganda wildlife Authority at the cost of 10% of the total filming fee.
