Best Period For Filming In Uganda

Filming is done throughout the year and Crystal Fixers Uganda is ever ready to assist in all the Logistics involved in the process. However, the best time for filming is the dry season. Uganda has two dry seasons; Long dry season – June, July, and August and short dry season – December, January, and February.

Why dry season the best for filming?

During the dry season, weather is favorable for filming without interruption of rain. Some of the filming equipment like cameras can be affected during wet season and taking clear pictures in motion can be hectic.

Tracking wildlife is easier during the dry season. Wild animals and birds gather at water bodies to quench their thirsty. The act enables filmmakers to take clear films all together.

Dry season is the best time to trek primates like Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, Golden Monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Mona monkeys among others. During this period filmmakers can easily find primates during filming process.

Dry season enables filmmakers find special bird species like shoe bill, Brown- crowned tchagra, olive thrush, Green – breated pitta, Dusky turtle dove, cape robin- chat, Kivu- ground thrush among others. The dry season months of June-August, and January to February are best for filming shoebill breeding.
